While promoting her upcoming film, “The Other Boleyn Girl,” Scarlett Johansson opened up to “Access Hollywood” about her rumored Courtney Love role and her upcoming album.

Johansson squashed rumors that she is set to play a young Courtney Love in the Kurt Cobain biopic, saying, “I have not seen a script. I read that about myself in a gossip magazine, but I never read a script or anything. I don’t know.”

this is why i hadn't even bothered to entertain the idea of scarlett playing courtney in the least bit. or even the idea of this movie even beginning to happen.
it doesn't matter who courtney wants to play her, one of her biggest challenges would be finding someone who'll even want to play her. courtney can "pick" ol' dirty bastard to portray her in a film, but that doesn't mean a brotha is going to rise from the dead and put on a blonde wig.

Why dont they do an 'I'm Not There' scenario and have all different actors playing Courtney - Amy Winehouse/Mel Gibson/Pete Docherty/random drunken derelict off the street, I think they could all add something to the role

It's nice to be right once in a while.

That whole "Scarlett got my script" bullshit was exactly that... it's in a pile with a bunch of other scripts she uses to line her birdcage.
