A few years ago a columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times wrote a column complaining about the process of adopting a cat from his local animal shelter. He said it was silly to make adopting an animal so difficult. According to him it was "just a cat."

A year or so later he was arrested for beating his wife.

this is ****ing dumb. just give the dog back to the family. that's the point of a rescue operation.

and they are just animals. I love animals, and they deserve the best but they are animals, we can't lose perspective, they are not human beings, it's not ****ing Elian González we are talking about here, it's just a ****ing dog.

Oh and Ellen supposedly threatened the shelter with a lawsuit before she go on the show, so I guess that crying was intentional.

There is only one idiot in all of this and it's Ellen and she should've just kept quiet and keep it private.

i wonder what that means, that people who don't wanna obsess and molest their pets will eventually beat their loved ones.
