Anyone else been following this? He was sentenced yesterday. He is currently in jail but he will only have to stay for 90 days and it will then be determined whether he is suitable for straight probation.

some say he got off easy but I dunno.... he's obviously incredibly sorry and realizes his responsibility. his life has already been destroyed.
i realize he's responsible for someone's death and he made some really terrible decisions but i just feel for him.... he just got caught up in the moment and wasn't thinking really I guess.
And sorry, but the 17-year old should have also known better than to get in a car with him...

Lane also had a really terribly childhood apparently; Not that excuses anything but it makes me feel even worse for him because he had finally made it as an actor (prison break) and then this happened and it's just sad......

I'm with you, he is to blame and he did a horrible thing, but who would get in a car with a drunk person?
The people at the party later said they saw him do shots and use coke, they even claimed to have pictures.
But they still let their friends get in a car with him.
I do think 3 months is a low sentence though, it IS his fault.
