Not that anybody cares, but Barbara Walters officially announced today that Whoopi Goldberg has been signed on to replace Rosie O'Donnell has co-host of The View. She'll start co-hosting the day after Labor Day. I guess this was a fitting choice. How else are you supposed to know how hip and progressive the show is unless they hire a minority? And if you want to know what the show will be like in the fall, gather up a group of white women at your office and one black woman, then have them repeatedly kick you in the nuts while screaming. Ahh, who needs TV?

I like Whoopi Goldberg and even though I don't watch the show, I watched today to see who it was. I was so excited when she came out! I think she's a major improvement to this View crap!

This is a brilliant choice. I think Whoopi is very talented and funny as hell.

Considering her political bent, I think it will be fun to watch her rip Hasslebitch to shreds.

She just hasn't taken off the gloves yet.

And Whoopi is a helluva lot more snide than Rosie. She doesn't get pissed, she gets you in the jugular with her wit.

Just bring up abortion or poverty in the US.

I hate the fucking show, but I might check in to see if Whoopi brings it.

I started watching The View regularly during Star Jones weight loss and got real engaged in Hot Topic segment. I have liked alot of the guest hosts but they will slant to FOX type stuff with some guest host from repuliban think tanks. Also Elisabeth Hasselbecks views really get to me, she will always agree with whatever the Bible or Bush is saying.
So sad to be a mouthpiece for them when she could have been the next Joan Lundun.
Loved Rosies tenure. I still think she was ousted for her political views. I love Barbarba the Kitty Carlisle of morning TV but my most favorite is Joy Behar. She really makes sense when she speaks. I rallied around C. Lo being a guest host but everyone over her panned that a few years ago.
I really think they need another hard news or attorny type of person. Like Elisabeth vargas or Gloria Allred. I think Gloria Allred would put that shwo to thru the roof.
Anyway I love the show. I love the theme song, best on TV. I usually tivo it since I cant always watch. It is tivoed everyday.
Did The View always have a Bible thumper on before Elisabeth? I dont remember Lisa Lings or Stephs views. I hope Steph replaces Elisabeth during her matrnity leave better yet Rosie.
