Sorry, I'm just really interested, heh.
And yeah, it is sad. |

HCH, when you don't get it you really don't get it.
She may not be important to you, but in the history of punk rock she is seminal figure.

| | | Dead junkie groupies from middle class families... and???
She was an obnoxious bitch with a personality disorder that had parents with no fucking common sense (who gave her whatever she wanted to shut her up as a child; and then played the victims after she died, writing a self-serving book in the process).
Sid Vicious was borderline retarded, a lousy bassist, from a highly over-rated publicity stunt of a band. The Sex Pistols (for those of us old enough to know better) have always sucked. They made a spectacle of themselves and had a very clever manager/publicity whore shoving them into the spotlight.
Sorry. I know some of you are probably young enough to think "Sid & Nancy" was an accurate depiction of their "romantic, dangerous, rock n' roll" lifestyle. They were two junkies with little or no musical talent, addicted to drugs and the idea of being "famous".
If she died because she was stupid enough to be flashing around fifties and hundreds in the Chelsea Hotel (where apparently you can make a whole shitload of noise and your neighbors just "go back to sleep")... taken off by a drug dealer who knew her boyfriend was so tanked he wouldn't remember a thing... a woman who was considered a walking petri dish with a shitty personality... well, I just don't feel any pity. Keith Richards, Marianne Faithfull, and William Burroughs lived as junkies for decades and managed to make it through. Survival of the fittest, Darwinian junkiedom, whatever. Maybe just smarter people addicted to the same shit would've lived, while two retards hooked on junk with too much time on their hands and a host of predators around them just ended up dead.
Lots of "rock n' roll" celebrities die because of their lifestyle. And junkie groupies die even more often. |

I guess she’s a historical figure (‘seminal’ would basically mean she was responsible for how punk developed after her, and while I’m not really an expert, I don’t think that’s the case), everyone loves a murder. And a dead person widely disliked in life.
She’s important to me because I read her mother’s book. It hadn’t been out all that long when I read it, and it was the first I’d ever heard of her.
