In America, journalists like Curry (and Walters and Couric, etc) are meant to create a mostly warm environment for the person they are interviewing if they are celebrities such as Jolie, Spears, etc in order to have them feel comfortable to speak, react, etc. It was an interview about a movie and she, several times, tried to get her to speak on the dichotomy between the role of a reporter vs paparazzi who stalk Jolie and her family. I see nothing different in Ann Curry's interview here that she has not done with every other celebrity and if you think this makes her not objective (because she's not a raving bitch to the person and shows empathy), then I suppose you aren't the intended audience for the interview. No hard feelings. | I just don't think it's appropriate because Ann Curry is supposed to be a respected journalist so I expect her to be unbiased in all her work. Journalists are there to sometimes ask the hard questions and they are supposed to keep a distance between themselves and the interviewee. That's like the first thing you learn in journalism class.
Ann Curry is leaning forward toward Angelina and being all compassionate and telling Angelina basically what an amazing woman she is. That is not her job. We will decide whether or not she's an amazing woman after we see the interview.
But ah well. Different opinions and all that...like you said. No hard feelings. |

| | | Ann Curry probably feels bad for Angelina, she has anorexia and can't act.
Sorry, but it's definitely not "journalism" and the news shows just promote the movies..like an infomercial. They should stop pretending to be "journalists."
Also Angelina's legs just highlight the awfulness the disease of anorexia causes, why do we have to look at these chicks that can't eat? I mean it's kind of gross.
Why do they get rewarded to look this way? |

I think in all her recent pictures she looks really beautiful (facewise I mean) but I do agree about her legs. I was shocked when I saw this picture:
her legs do look scary skinny there..I never realized how thin she was because she's usually pretty covered up. I guess with loosing her mom and all she might've lost weight without her really realizing it....but she should really gain a couple pounds. |
