I'm skeptical of the source too.

I'm progressively getting the feeling that a kind of personal backlash is coming, and it's only a matter of time before Wild-Child-Jolie returns with a vengeance. Meanwhile she will be stuck with all these kids she took on while she was in her "earth mother" phase. Good fucking luck to everyone concerned.

If it's true then choose to take roles that do not involve weapons -- simple as that.

I don't see what the big deal is. Her job is to act in movies, some of them have guns, big deal. Avoiding movies with guns limits her market. It is still fair for her, as a parent, to want to protect her children from them. I'm sure all the actors out there that are parents also protect their children from seeing them do sex scenes in movies, should they avoid all movies with sex scenes? Hell, us regular folk sometimes work jobs that would be hazardous for our kids to be around (police officers, fire fighters), doesn't mean we should quit our jobs and it doesn't mean we should be called hypocrites because we protect our kids from it.

I didn't read it as her banning guns from her movies, she just wants them away from where her children can see them or get ahold of them, or see her glorify that kind of violence. It's not being hypocritical, it's being protective. I agree with everything Fen99us said.

I bet she's a total bitch that won't let Maddox play with GI Joes or those shitty tiny green plastic soldiers. A 3cm piece of plastic gun on one of those buddies would TOTALLY offend her.

Well, his birthday was ARMY themed, so who knows? I still don't think it's wrong of her to not want prop guns to be around her children while they're on set.

aw what a coincidence! I was thinking of brandon lee like two seconds before I came into this thread...and I never think of that.

I get freaked out when my little brother plays with toy guns and pretends he's shooting people (as does my mom), and I fucking love films like Reservoir Dogs.

So I can see where Angelina Jolie is coming from.
