AKON Says 'Sorry' For 'Dry-Humping' 14 Year Old On Stage
Akon is finally speaking out about his humping a 14-year-old girl at a recent concert in Trinidad. The singer was video taped dancing very provocatively, ok he was just humping her, and now he's apologizing.
"First, and most important to me, I want to sincerely apologize for the embarrassment and any pain I've caused to the young woman who joined me on-stage, her family and the Trinidad community for the events at my concert in Port of Spain on April 12th.
It was never my intention to embarrass or take advantage of my fans in any way, especially those under the age of 18. That is why we tried to make sure that the club did not admit anyone under 18 in the audience. Somehow, that standard was not met.
Again, I apologize to those concerned and to all my fans and I pledge to all that we will strive to make sure this type of incident does not happen again."
Meanwhile, the apology came a day late for Verizon, who cut ties with the singer and, by extension, the tour with Gwen Stefani.
isn't trinidad the country that didn't want elton john playing as he would encourage his audience to turn gay?> i just have this vague notion that they're a really conservative country.
if so, its probably best he apologise.

oh. I hadn't watched the video before. Only saw the pictures and they didn't seem that bad because I saw the girl sitting on top of him?!
but the video is quite "shocking" I guess.. because it does look like he's assaulting her. this isn't the entire footage though because as I said in the pics the girl is on top of HIM so she definitely was enjoying it.
