thandie newton should have played that role, seriously. and maybe she would win an oscar. not angelina (that's never gonna happen again) but thandie. still, this movie reeks of another beyond borders.

I have no clue why people assume roles like these are only for people of mixed race or one race or another. The whole purpose of acting is to act. You know, pretend you're something you aren't. That includes other races. Do we really need a list of white actors who played mixed race characters to justify Angelina's role? I don't understand why there is so much garbage paranoia about it.

It's not that Jolie played a biracial person; the problem is that she got blacked up to do it. If the role required someone to have afro curls, dark eyes and darker skin, then find an actress who has those. Lord knows there are plenty, and plenty better than Jolie.

She looks "Cubaned up" more than anything in that picture. It's kinda creeping me out that people are focusing on her supposedly looking really black when she so doesn't. They mostly brought out the Cuban stuff.

A lot of actors have to change they look to fit a character. I don't really see Angelina Jolie as 'blacked up' it's not like she's a minstral with shoe polish on her face. She had to wear some fake tan so what. Marianne Pearl herself has actually approved Angelina to play her in the film and they are friends.
Also Halle Berry is in a film based on a true story where the woman was oringinally white. I don't see many people making a big deal out of that.

That picture is seriously one of the most disturbing things I've ever seen, mostly cause she looks like the mum of a chick I went to school with.
