i think it's funny the way people on kr think that courtney is the center of the universe (for good or bad) and that of course, everyone must know about all her news.

the reality is that i don't know a single person "in real life" that's ever heard of dirty blonde, or who has any interest in or idea of what courtney's been up to for the last 5 years. to most people, she's a forgotten, irrelevant, washed up celebrity that had a good album and a tragedy 14 years ago and has used too many drugs since then.

on kittyradio, on the other hand, she still has an extraordinary ability to completely mesmerize and captivate people, whether they love her or hate her. for the most part, i don't pay attention to the courtney love talk on here since her talent and relevance as a woman and a female rock star are undoubtedly something of the past-- and those are the reasons that ever compelled me to her in the first place, so many years ago. but i admit that i occasionally get curious enough to look at the threads about her (like this one). ironically, i was having one of those moments of curiosity last night, so i've actually updated myself on some of her shit.

as far as i can tell, these are the basic updates on courtney's life:
--a new album with some unimpressive songs is supposedly coming out soon
--she's still disturbingly addicted to plastic surgery
--she released a diary a couple years ago (i've never seen it it or read it)
--she's maybe on drugs? i have no idea.
--she appears to be seriously mentally ill. my guess is that she has borderline personality disorder (look it up and see if you agree), in addition to alot of other issues.

She isn't our "center of the universe", but this website/group of people (a large percentage of them anyway) have been around since it was hole.com so why does it fascinate you that we still talk about her? She was our common link for joining this place in the first place, how are we supposed to ignore the elephant in the room, it's kind of ridiculous to try.

I happen to think it's funny how all these young know-it-all kids have found this site and are oblivious to its history. Four questions: How old are you, how did you hear about this website, why are YOU here and is it pleasant living in oblivion?

I joined this site about 7 or 8 years ago because I thought it seemed like a positive, interesting, inspiring place to talk about a variety of topics, including Hole. I think at the time Courtney still participated in KR, but I could be wrong. By the way, I've listened to Hole for 15 years, so please don't treat me like I'm 13.

Although it'd be kind of amusing to go back and forth with you, bantering about whether I do, in fact, "live in oblivion" (I'm not sure what I said that inspired that statement, but if it was my semi-adequate knowledge of CL, then you've proven my point perfectly), overall, an internet argument would be self-indulgent and silly.

My point is that there's a big, wide world outside of Courtney Love, and asking if someone's "retarded" because they haven't heard of Dirty Blonde is just a teeny bit excessive.

I hear what you are saying, but there are new people who bash the Courtney fans/haters on this site for having Courtney gossip forums, etc. knowing that this was the original reason we all joined the site in the first place....at least for a good 80% of us.

Most of us, including me, were here for hole.com..and then moonwashedrose/kittyradio....now we just linger here.

Even if this wasn't originally a cl website..there is still a gossip section and if we wanted to gossip about her we could. We could gossip about Pee wee Herman if desired.
