There are many reasons why people don't want to exit the closet - and that's all on them. If they want to stay inside it (whether it's "glass" or not), that's their business.
When you vote, when you donate and when you're in a position where you can show people by example what is possible (like Jodie and Anderson - even though they don't pride parade every day) - you're doing a lot to push the cause. You don't have to march in public wearing feather boas or even go to rallies. It's not about how physically vocal you are, it's about doing what's right for you - and any gay person is going to make choices that forward the gay cause (even if they're not outwardly seen).
We
should be past the closet, but that's not how our society works. One day it might be different, but now, we're stuck with what we've got. It's all about perception and leadership. I really respect Anderson Cooper for the way that he deals with the situation. Everyone is different. Period.
