I like Jeffrey, too. He reminds me of all the creative punker tattoo boys I've known throughout my life. Rough around the edges but still making good, like you said.
I can relate to his struggles with drugs, too.
You should check out his band if you haven't- they have a myspace page. Just look under "Lifter" or Jeffrey probably has a link from his.Their singer is really cool, he's a big Pogues fan like I am and emailed me pictures from one of their recent shows.
