I watch Velvet Goldmine just for the Ewan parts. He would be the only respectable actor out there to play such a sacred role.

my first thought when I heard about ewan possibly playing kurt was "THE CHIN!" they have sorta similar chins...n'est-ce pas?

also, I am a massive ewan fan (Trainspotting,Moulin Rouge, Shallow Grave, A Life Less Ordinary, The Island, Star Wars) and I think he's a TERRIFIC actor.

I am really looking forward to seeing this film (if it gets done) but I do feel weird watching it..I mean, its a bit ironic that in Heavier than Heaven the way Kurt is described and quoted makes him come off as someone who would have HATED that the biography was even written, let alone made into a film by his own fucking wife...and yet that's what is being done.

I hope courtney isn't going to play herself...But I wonder who she thinks could play her? Angelina Jolie might be a tad too Hollywood beautiful but I think based on some of the terrific performances she's done of eccentric loud characters, she could be very good playing Courtney in the 90s....also she can pull off blonde hair and she has big lips and eyes.

You saw The Island before Velvet Goldmine?!?! Shame on you! Dont you know Jonathan Rhys Myers and Christian Bale are in the movie as well!?! It's girl porn! (okay for me and my sicko friends but whatever). However, you do score points because you did see Shallow Grave. That's the movie I first saw Ewan in and decided I was in love....*sigh*

ya, I didn't really like the Island over all as a film but ewan had some nice moments. GAHH christian bale is so hot! (j.r.myers isnt really my type) I'll try to rent Velvet Goldmine this weekend then.

shallow grave ..oh gosh ewan was SO fucking funny in that.

Ewan's so bad at accents, anyone see the one about clones with scarlett johansen (sp?) his accent put me off all through the film.
