We feel very strongly about this issue!

If Isaiah Washington's comments had been racial and not gay-oriented, he would have been fired instantly.

Imagine if it were Patrick Dempsey throwing around the "N" word. And then to add insult to injury, denying it!

He would have been fired faster than we could finish typing this sentence.

ABC's reluctance to remove the toxic Washington from Grey's Anatomy is disgusting and inherently homophobic.

Why must there be a double standard?

Hate is hate, regardless of who it's targeted towards.

If you agree with us then we call on you to boycott ABC and their advertisers.

And, we will do what we can on our part.

In addition to boycotting ABC, we will no longer mention ABC or any of their stars on PerezHilton.com - and we will refuse their advertising money - until they properly address this matter and deal with it.

This saddens us, because we know we're gonna wanna talk about Rosie or Ugly Betty.

But, we gotta stand by our convictions.

Say what you want about Perez...but I do agree with him on this one. They probably should have let this guy go a while ago after his initial homophobic comments...

Can someone give me the reader's digest version of this drama? I tried to go a google search but every single article was tedious and biased.

Grey's Anatomy actor Isaiah Washington called colleague T.R. Knight (I think that's his name???) a "faggot" on the set a few months ago. At the Golden Globes they asked him about the incident, and he rather stupidly said "I never called anyone a faggot...I wish I was gay" or something to that effect.

I removed the guy from ABC's email, it is on the Perez Web site though for anyone interested...

yea. T.R. Knight was pretty much forced to come out after this. it's pretty bad. he wet on Ellen Degeneres' show and confirmed the incident had indeed taken place and then at the Golden Globes press room without anyon really adressing Isaiah he just went to the microphone and bluntly stated "it never happened. I never called anyone a faggot" REPEATING THE WORD AGAIN! Simply retarded. And the whole cast and crew was standing there really awkwardly.
And then he said "I wish I was gay!Please let me be gay!" in an interview.

this guy is ridiculous and disgusting.

His behavior is extremely hostile and unprofessional to say the least. If someone said this at any workcenter, they would most likely be fired. Hate is hate no matter what form it arrives in.

I guess ABC addressed the incident:
"We have a long standing policy to create and maintain respectful workplaces for all our employees. We dealt with the original situation in October, and thought the issue resolved. Therefore, we are greatly dismayed that Mr. Washington chose to use such inappropriate language at the Golden Globes, that he himself deemed "unfortunate" in his previous public apology. We take this situation very seriously, and his actions are unacceptable and are being addressed."

So on point. Huge doesn't even begin to describe that damn show. Never in my life -- well, since perhaps "My So-Called Life" aired in the mid-90s -- has a show developed such a rabid following that crosses ALL lines of gender, class, sexuality etc. I'm really shocked that he would say that, on-air no less. I'm sure people have been brutalized and killed for all kinds of reasons. How many gay people haven't been brutalized or killed? But what has that got to do with being called a 'name'? Everyone is given labels for something. I wouldn't be offended if someone reduced me to being 'the guy with brown hair' or 'the hetero guy'. Like I said, using the word faggot isn't ideal and probably unnecessary, but for mass outrage to occur is interesting to me.
