I got into this show during the current season (season 3), and I am hooked. Keeping up with the story hasn't been too difficult for me as I have a soft spot for the 1978 series, but in general, I am not a scifi fan (though I did grow up with Star Wars and Star Trek). Battlestar is not your standard scifi fare at all, and I gaurantee you'll love it (if not, you can give me a public shaming here).
One of my favorite storylines in the show concerning Starbuck involved her becoming stranded with cylon Leoben (and their on-going tension).
