im no expert, but it seems like overall, aussies have an easier time. i think there's something about the australian accent that's closer to american, verus british to american. welsh also seems a bit closer. |
oh I forgot about Guy Pearce. He's really good. Toni Collette said she finds it easy to do an American accent because she grew up watching a lot of American television and in Australia they are more familiar with the American accent than the brits because of that reason. Yes Aussie's seem to be really good at it but Kate Winslet isn't Australian and to me in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind her american accent seems impeccable. And that must be hard because most actors from britain that try to do american accents aren't really convincing like Jude Law and Ewan McGregor but Kate's really considering she's a brit and they use their throat muscles in a different way altogether than americans do when speaking.
