Ricky Martin is set to become the latest celebrity to adopt a child from an underprivileged background.

The Latin pop star has revealed he plans to follow Angelina Jolie and Madonna by bringing up an orphan, something that he feels will be a natural step forward from his current charity work. Martin currently working with the United Children's Fund (UNICEF) and helps to house children in India through the Ricky Martin Foundation.

"I believe that at some time in the future this house will be full of coloured crayons strewn over the floor and the walls will be covered with scribbles," he says. "There are a lot of kids out there in need of a home."
