Nobody plays cold and icy like Nicole. Well, some play it better, but they don't play it in the same way. Though to be honest I can't stand her.

I don't think Cruise or Kidman were the cause of the film being a piece of shit. I thought actually thought they were great in the film. Both played the parts with strong subtlety.

Well then what was his reason for hiring Jack Nicholson to do The Shining? And this was at the height of Nicholson's acting career.

i really dont think casting was the problem with eyes wide shut, at all. if anyone "ruined" it, it was kubrick himself,lol. sorry, im just not that big of a kubrick fan needless to say...

im having a hard time believing this. if he was so easily strongarmed by people around him- stars, producers, financiers.....every film he ever made would've been a piece of shit, he wouldnt have the style he had, he wouldnt have been KUBRICK. whether i like him or not, he definitely was extremely distinctive. no director who is spineless and easily manipulated accomplishes such distinct vision, let alone throughout many films.

its so easy to come out with this now. at the height of distaste for tom, people are more likely to believe it without thinking too much about it.

and as for strong-armed by big stars????? who was he? a first time director hired from the commercial circuit? LLOL. please. its up to the director he's themain guy, he's gonna make the ultimate decision about what and who to put where and why.
