Is
Jennifer Lopez pregnant? According to
Jesse McCartney, she is! The 19-year-old singer was in Atlanta doing an interview with Star 94 radio show hosts
Steve McCoy and
Vikki Locke when he let what may turn out to be some huge news slip.
On the air to promote the upcoming release of his album
Right Where You Want Me (out Sept. 19), the discussion turned to Jesse's love life and his long-time girlfriend
Katie Cassidy, who is set to play Lucy Ewing in film adaptation of the classic TV soap
Dallas. The movie's cast has long been the subject of speculation with big names -- like
Jennifer Lopez and
John Travolta -- signing on. Katie nabbed the part of Lucy Ewing, one
Jessica Simpson and
Kristin Cavallari were rumored to be up for. Lopez recently dropped out of the project, a detail that didn't escape radio host Locke when she interviewed Jesse.
"Remember the big story that J. Lo didn't get along with somebody so she was supposedly cast out?" Locke asked McCartney on the air.
"No, she's pregnant," McCartney said without hesitation. "That's why she's not on it."
"Is that true?" Locke shot back.
"She got preggers," McCartney replied.
Then "there was a moment of awkward silence," Locke told TeenPeople.com. Jesse "looked as if [he was saying] 'You don't already know this?' Like it was common knowledge."
Tabloids have reported that Jennifer is expecting, but neither she nor her husband
Marc Anthony have made an announcement. So does Vicki think it's true? "His girlfriend was on the set, that's why I think there's some credibility there," she said. "You never know. But now I know how these rumors start. Maybe that's just what some people said on the set and she heard it."
Pregnant or not, Lopez's absence from the set wasn't a huge surprise to even some cast members. "I thought, 'J.Lo and Travolta -- they're never going to get it together. Someone's going to bow out,'"
Luke Wilson, who plays Bobby Ewing in the movie, told TEEN PEOPLE in June. "People are like, 'Oh, I heard you're doing
Dallas,' and I'd say, 'Well, don't count on it -- I'm not sure it's going to happen.' But it's always a good sign when they start spending money on it. I think it's going to come together now."
As for Jesse, despite his loose lips, he's "got his head on his shoulders," Locke told TeenPeople.com "It's not like he's just one of those up-and-coming stars. And I love his CD!"
