i want to know how to say "i never knew a revolution could be so quiet"
i babelfished it and got "je n'ai jamais su que une révolution pourrait être si tranquille." but i worry about how babelfish turns things wrong.
can anyone help me please?

I looked up the nouns/adjectives and got my friend who does French to translate and he reckons it's "je ne savais jamais qu'une révolution pourrait être si silencieuse/tranquille". Hope that was of some help.

You can translate it literally. I would prefer " Je ne savais pas qu'une révolution pouvait être si tranquille/silencieuse".

Do you refer to "quiet revolution" as an historical event? If so, definitely translate "quiet" by "tranquille". Silencieuse would have more to do with the lack of noise. I don't know which sens you want to give to your tattoo, but in both ways (silencieuse and tranquille), the sentence would be grammatically correct.
