I need to get a phrase translated into as many languages as possible. The phrase is:

"give up on life"

This was the best place I could think of to post this.

Sounds pretty damn if you ask me. I'll see if I can get my bf to give me the Greek... just don't actually give up on life, though?

My bf gave me a couple of suggestions. It's kinda hard to get something that would literally translate back to exactly "give up on life", here's what he gave me:

έχασα την επιθυμία για ζωή. - lost the desire/wish to live
έχασα την όρεξη για ζωή. - lost the appetite for life

but those seem to be more of an observation of oneself giving up on life rather than a command to someone else to give up on life, and the latter seems to be what you're going for? I asked for the command-like version of it and now whe wants to know why the hell anyone would command such a thing of another person...

δώσε τέλος - give an end (i.e. take your life)

Don't really know how helpful that is. Do you mind me asking what it's for?

Composition. Annoyingly, I forgot to ask: I could also do with as many translations of "house" as possible. I have a fair few.

In French I guess the best translation would be "perdre le goût de vivre" (to lose the taste to live, literally). My French is crap now though, despite being a native! Living abroad is NOT a good idea! :lol:

There's nothing that literally translates into what you wanted but here's a decent swedish translation: Tappa lusten att leva

It's difficult to translate that in dutch, cause we don't say that, but it's something like "Het leven opgeven" or "Het leven voor gezien hebben".

the pronounciating for greek "house" is spee-tee but idk how to switch my keyboard into greek. if you really need it and nobody else does it i can ask my brother how.
