| | | ^^ i'm talking about the 1st dress the posters displayed. i went to the vintageous site and i think the majority of the dresses there are beautiful, so i'm not commenting on the dresses posted from that site. besides, i haven't read the entire thread yet. |

I really liked it since it's not too long and it fits right. There was another dress I tried on but it kept falling down since it was strapless. | I like it.
And FYI, if you end up getting it, go to David's Bridal for shoes.
I had to wear a similar dress in the same color and at David's Bridal I got a shoe called "Brittany" (or maybe it was "Britney" ) and they dyed it in the same color as the dress. They have a whole selection of shoes they can dye for you in that color |

I say nay to the original dress sorry. It just seems a bit boring, I'm not American so I don't really know what the conventional style for a prom is though. But I know for my formals I like to wear something that no-one else is going to be wearing the same as me but in a different colour. |

| | I'm wearing a red dress... Think Satine in Moulin Rouge but strapless and with no bustle - and more fitted.
Right now I am trying to decide what kind of necklace/earrings accessories to wear

| | | I definitely like the lacey white one with the pink ribbon much better than the lavender one. The lavender is kind of generic. |

| | | I think your dress (the first one) is quite a nice one.....it's not that bridesmaid-ish.....get some different shoes (open toed will do the job) and the right accessories and no one will be able to tell.
just as a side note, I think it's starting to get ridiculous how much people are putting up for prom. I've heard about girls buying $500 dresses! Let me tell you something, it's not the price of the dress that will make it stunning, 95% of the package look is the girl in the dress and the rest is having the RIGHT dress for the RIGHT girl. I went to a wedding (actually, I got two weddings out of this dress this year.....both in vastly different geographical locations) this year and got a nice, satin-y black number that fit me perfect, was immensely flattering and got me compliments ("wow!where did you get that!?).....I never had dress get me that before. I got that nice little number for $50 at Dillards on a trip to Florida.........and it was machine washable biatch!!!!
anyway....go with what you want but don't feel like you have to spend too much.l |
