So I'm thinking about getting a star tattoo. I really like this design but I want to be sure of the meaning before I get it. I know victoria beckham has something similiar.

http://www.vanishingtattoo.com/tatto...m_victoria.htm

does anyone know the meaning of an eight pointed star as opposed to a nautical star?

The 8 pointed star is related to Venus. That's about all I know. As far as the nautical, that is debated fiercely . . .

If it was a regular 5-pointed star, that would be horribly generic and trendy. But an eight pointed star like the picture above isn't that bad... if you like it I say get it. It looks like a compass to me.

how long have you particularly wanted the tattoo. you need to wait if its less than a 6 months. You'll be stuck with it forever. thats why i wait atleast a year before i get anything done. if i still want it in a year, i get it.

dont be like the trendy kids now that just wast their money on meaningless fad tattoos that they'll have to spend more money getting covered up or removed

Question allergic reaction and tattooed people

hi
as you all know i have tattoos-a-plenty

well, ive just put some dye on my hair, and when i was reading the box, i came across this written on it in the safety instruction bit.

''IMPORTANT: HAIR COLOURANTS CAN CAUSE AN ALLERGIC REACTION WHICH IN CERTAIN RARE CASES MAY BE SEVERE. IT IS THEREFORE ESSENTIAL TO FOLLOW THE PRECAUTIONS BELOW:

DO NOT USE IF

- If you already had a reaction to hair colourant
- If you have sensitive, itchy or damaged scalp
* If tattoed, you may be at greater risk of allergy.

right, so because im tattooed, I'm @ greater risk...........

hmmmmmm

does anyone know why?
I've never noticed this on a hair dye before

its because the inks have traces of metals in them, which can react with some dyes (hence you don't stir peroxide with a metal spoon)

I've never seen that before either, but that makes sense. Still quite strange though.

I do the same exact thing. Hell, my first two tattoos were planned for 5 years before I got them. My third one was planned for about 3 months... that was the shortest amount of time I've ever waited before getting a tattoo. I don't understand how some people get tattoos impulsively without planning it.
