and im wondering what cool stores i might happen to be somewhat close to.
i know theres an urban outfitters, but i wanna find something less trendy i guess.
and record stores, i know about criminal records, but im not sure where that is.
and i know about little 5 points, but again, no clue where that is either, or if its close to downtown.
thanks guys |

| | YES! Little Five Points is the place to go. There are soooo many shops there (i.e. Criminal Records, Junkman's Daughter and Wax n' Facts). Wax n' Facts is my favorite record store around there. It's not in midtown (where you're staying), but it's relatively close. Of course, I live in metro atlanta so anything 15-20 minutes nearby is close. You can hop on a bus and go to Little Five (Moreland Avenue), or if you're renting a car all you have to do is turn left onto Peachtree Street and then right onto (you'll see the Fox Theatre) Ponce de Leon and then a right onto Moreland Ave. and you're there! http://l5p.com
You can also check out Underground Atlanta, it's incredibly close to where you're staying, so you could walk over to it. There are some neat little shops there.
I hope I helped. |

| | Yep. You definitely need to go to Little Five and Underground. I've heard really great things about the Sundial Restraurant. It's on top of the Westin. It's really fancy and expensive, but it's suppose to be a great place to go eat when the sun's going down.
I hope you don't get lost this time. Heh, I've lived here all my life and I still get lost. Atlanta's roads are a little messed up. Definitely get a map at your hotel or something. |

there is a list of stores on the website. the shopping isn't what i would call fantastic there, it's just a neat place to go. it's been a while since i've gone, but it seems like there was a great little candy store.
all the shopping is in little five, you will shop till you drop, or until your pocket is empty. |

Originally Posted by owMyeyeball? and hahah its just because every street is peachtree. haha | Aye. That doesn't help, but it's not the only reason. Atlanta (and a lot of cities on the east coast) were built before they had the brilliant idea of building cities around the basic idea of a square, so there are lots of one way streets that don't run parallel or perpendicular to other streets. Little Five points (and big five points) are perfect examples of that, because they're not just names, they're called that because a whole bunch of streets intersect at each one. Around big five points, there are lots of streets that you can't turn on even though you should be able to- reminds me a lot of market street in San Francisco, if that means anything to you.
But yes, little five points is pretty good, go see it before it's completely corrupted by corporations. Starbucks forced its way in and its all been downhill from there. And like 28-280mm said, wax n' facts is a great record store. They actually sell vinyl- used and stuff. And tshirts. Criminal came later and is awesome too, but they're strictly cds and comic books and stuff like that.
Will you be driving? Whether you will be or not, if you have time, you can go further east on Moreland from little 5 points and about 2-3 miles down on the left is the east atlanta village which doesn't have the record shops like little 5, but has some unique shops and pubs for clothes. The earl has lots of good shows.
The hotel where you're staying doesn't have many shops around it but you're not far from stuff.
How long will you be staying? |
