Talk about your style and who/what influences you!

There is probably another thread like this from ages ago but I want a new one

What is your favourite item of clothing or outfit?
What about your favourite shops?
Why do you dress the way you do?

I think the reason I have all the clothes I do is because of an independent shop called Liberty Blue in Belfast. I used to buy my band tshirts there when I was younger

Eventually it all changed over time to selling pretty and unusual dresses and vintage style things and I just got addicted. Not to mention the gorgeous staff who work there, they are so good about fashion advice.

My favourite dress is probably my Looking Glass one:

From Liberty Blue, naturally.

I suppose I am influenced a lot by Vivienne Westwood, Dita Von Teese and strangely enough Alice in Wonderland, for example the Looking Glass clothing brand.

Tell me what you like and why you like it and show me your favourite clothes ever.

i love PRRRIINNNTTTSSS? any kind of print
and flowers
and anything that will draw attention away from what i REALLY look like

my favouite dress is the one on the far right
its AMAMZING
better in real life too
sillkky

What about your favourite shops? warehouse, monsoon, LAURA ASHLEY, marks and spencers (i rekon i AM an old woman?)
Why do you dress the way you do? because im really ugly and totally the wrong shape for trousers, and even if i wasnt like hugely fat i totally still would be....and because it makes me feel happy when im wearing patterns and good solid colours?

What is your favourite item of clothing or outfit?- Cowboy boots paired with a little dress.
What about your favourite shops?-I really love American Apperel at the moment.
Why do you dress the way you do?-Because it fits me well, my personality and it looks good on my body.

My favorite dress at the moment is this one Nicole Kidman wore to an awards show, it's got palm trees all ofer it. Can't find a picture.

What influences me? Old Hollywood glamour meets Texas, and I'm serious here. I'm inspired by literature and film as well.

I can't see pictures because of my shitt childs internet

I can't imagine you in trousers because you are too girly!

I try to dress to suit my shape, I have a small waist in comparison to my hips so I try to make the most of that! I like pretending to be lady like too.

Mostly I love how different clothes make me feel like I could be different characters, being a drama kid and everything. I love costumes!

sometimes I look like I am going to a wedding but I dont care!

Well, I'm a guy but I'll reply anyway.

I like to dress very casual. By casual I mean jeans, t-shirt, and sneakers. Or a nice pair of comfy brown shoes that look like they cost $300. I do tend to shop in nice places but I am not set on expensive things. If I find something nice at, say, JC Penney or Target, I will still buy it.

For me it's all about the cotton tees at J. Crew. Long sleeve, short sleeve, doesnt matter. They are very comfy and can be dressed up or down. I also like expensive looking sweaters and coats. Polos are cool too but Im not a fan of logos. I tend to wear clothes that dont have them. I feel they are way too showy.

I'm all about sweats when I am at home. Sweat pants and comfy shirts or pajama pants. They can be ripped, stained, on their last breath but if they are comfy I'm all for it.

i remember Liberty Blue! also lolz i remember the great excitement when Rough Stuff opened in Bangor...my grandma once took me there and bought me a Hole t-shirt!

my style icons are sandie shaw and lily allen.

i have sandie shaw's haircut... and i come somewhere in between their styles. i love 60s-style stuff and vintage (but not in that smug, poshgirl vintage way, honest!) but i mix it with contemporary and i'm obsessed with jewellery of all descriptions and i like to experiment. lily allen in particular has made me more confident to sorta subvert and try new things.

my personal style is on a kind of hiatus right now due to the giant broken-leg boot. it's this massive black boot that straps on that i've got to have on all the time. so lately all i wear are short dresses or pinafores over shirts and a big clunky combat boot on the other leg so it looks fairly even. if its cold i'll tuck a pair of leggings into the boots (which is a nice use for leggings since i doubt i'll ever wear them again otherwise). and i've been very light on the hair/make-up/jewelry just because everything is a huge pain in the ass these days. silky scarves sometimes, though. and barrettes up the ass.

cricket that actually sounds amazing, PICTURE!

Looking Glass has a website! You can buy it from there.

lilybett when were you last in LB? Its all gone feminine now! No more goffix!

I like vintage inspired things, like LG because real vintage rarely fits me. Although i have (what I think is) an amazing 1950s floral pattern dress, completely Stepford Wives style it is beautiful I will take a picture some time!

alright well today is not the perfect example but i took some pics, since you asked.

pardon the terrible quality. it's exceedingly difficult to take full-body mirror shots of oneself on crutches, as it turns out!

this one i think is more a close-up of my camera than anything else. and it looks like my dress is all stained but it's really my roommates mirror. ha.

and since you can't see it really in the other pics - the monkey barrette!

id say my style mainly consists of dresses (vintage/pinafores/floral prints) teamed with coloured /patterned tights/knee high socks and a cardigan.but this is not set or anything. i will pick up anything i like the look of.
i love fuck off wedge shoes, black boots and coloured mary jane heels.

i also dig playsuits a lot at the moment. i wear a black one with a long sleeve stripey top underneath and a big cat broach pinned to it.

influenced by fairytales, the 60's, japanese girls, cartoons/illustrations, film characters and clove did have some GOOD clothes. i dont know. anything i see or hear may make me want to buy a certain item of clothing. i like to pick and choose...

my favourite designer is anna sui. i think the outfits are ALWAYS amazing. because i like pictures you should too:

What is your favourite item of clothing or outfit?

this is an old pic, it doesnt really make it look as amazing as it actually is. but it is my favourite dress but i hardly wear it. it is deadstock marks and spencers.
(we talked about this today lol.)

What about your favourite shops?
i love searching through charity shops for cheap treasures and finding amzing old dresses . ebay, too. because its easy to find what i make up in my head!- practically my whole wardrobe are from the latter.
i aslo like the uk high street shops when i can afford it. topshop the most, PRIMARK, especially for TIGHTS!! £1 for a pair GOD YEAH, you saviour.
various websites, trading sites. ok i will actually shop anywhere

Why do you dress the way you do?
because i like it. i like colour, textures and pattern and looking like a girl.

sorry that was so long. i got carried away obiously
