| | | If I start rocking the tennis player hairband look... ...is there any chance that Billy Joe Armstrong (or equivalent) isn't going to get in on it and put me in that awkward position where I don't want to be compared to him but don't want to change just because of him either?
I borrowed an alice band off of my housemate because I had to eat some really messed Chinese chicken, and it looked pretty okay. I have the hair for it, but I dunno, does it look shit? |

| | | Do you want a sweatband (tennis player style) or an alice band (style of various sportsmen who have the balls to pull off wearing a girl's accessory because it keeps the hair out of their face)? Not many tennis players wear alice bands that I can think of. David Beckham does sometimes.
Wearing a sweatband would have got me some action when wearing it out and about, if I wanted said action, so it would definitely work for anyone else. And Billy Joe no longer has any influence on fashion, so fear not.
And no to alice bands. Basketball players can sometimes pull it off; if they are huge, rich and latin.

When I was rocking the tie/T-shirt combo, it was fine for a while cuz it was just me and Avril, and no-one was dumb enough to think I stole it from Avril. But then Green Day dude does it and everyone's like "oooh, you like Green Day", and I'm faced with either putting up with that, or changing and looking like I care too much, which, of course, I do.
But yeah, I'm totally going to try this out. I have the hair to pull it off.
My theory is, if I look enough like this guy, it's not rape, just surprise masturbation. Quote: |

I don't think those are reserved only for tennis players, or maybe the ones with Nike logos on them are?
Anyway, to eat Chinese food without your long hair getting in the way, I would go with a ball cap, but that's just me. |

| | | You have to be in a good band or be a fashion designer to do it.
or maybe posting on KR also qualifies you. |

| | That is in no way an alice band.
Check out this tool for an alice band: http://files.myopera.com/kiefpiet/pics/DSC00017.JPG
I prefer the towelling look for headbands myself, but Rafa's works too.

I mean, does he want to be remembered as an all-time great, or as Gustavo Kuerten with a marginally better record on other surfaces? Even Guga got to number 1.

| | | to be completely honest i just dont get the whole entire fascination with rafael nadal and how supposedly sexy he is for he isnt all that and in my opinion is far from the sexiest male tennis player for andy roddick and lleyton hewitt and radek stepanek make him look sick, roger federer as boring as he may be is more attractive, marat safin completely puts him to shame and novak djokovic is one of the sexiest men i have ever seen in my entire life not to mention my favorite tennis player and he just oozes sex and is like a tie for best looking man on the planet currently between him and carl barat. |

You reckon? I don't tend to bother too much about tennis players' looks - and I'm not sure many at all would really do much for me - but I'm still not sure Novak is really that flash? I mean, it's your choice and all. Go for it and everything!
It annoys me when people compare Fed's dullness to Pete Sampras' dullness. Pete became the epitome of dullness because he was as dull on court as he was off it. And more so than Stefan Edberg could even have dreamed of. Roger is not dull on court, though I guess the monotony with which he won became dull. But he has flashy moves and a stylish all-court game. Pete didn't.

| | | Given that this is an ersatz tennis thread, I must express my disapproval at Rod Dick bypassing the Olympics so that he can concentrate on "winning" the US Open. Needledick, it ain't going to happen.
