"Im not an emo, Im an individual"

how many times have you heard this when asking one of those little tryhards why they're dressed like all the other little emos?

yes im talking about the phenomena that is EMO

EMO- (Definition?) I dont really fucking know, supposedly "EMOTIONAL PUNK"

Not as in angry, fuelled-up on drugs psycho punks (respect)

im talking lets sing whiny songs about how much the world sucks and how much im gonna slit my wrists, and how its gonna hurt and how im gonna cry my little emo eyes out... waa.

not overrun really. they tend to stick to a few areas like the town hall building, and outside the big cinema on george street (because utopia records is there). i still think they look more goth than emo. maybe sydney kids just haven't quite caught up yet.

but i really don't see any difference between the current "alternative" culture, and that of when i was 16 years old. people complain about this emo thing like there's no tomorrow. i just don't think their attitudes are any different to the attitudes my friends and i had at that age. all teenagers are whiny and depressed, the current lot just have more elaborate hairstyles.

They've taken over Queen St Mall in Brisbane, especially out the front of Hungry Jacks and in the middle where the seats are. They're either there or down the bottom of the Myer Centre near Target & Maccas. I'm quite confused at their apparent obsession with fast food. They look stupid because they all look EXACTLY the same.

Rhia, the ones here are a goff/emo mashie too.

Oh and i think the thing that really irritates me about them is how excitable they are. If you're dressing to look like you want to kill yourself and everyone around you, it looks really dumb when you're jumping up and down squeeing because the friend you saw yesterday and every day before that just rocked up.
