Does anyone wear American Apparel?

I want to buy some of their stuff online but its frustrating to think it could all be too tight.

I love their concept - a "vertical" company where everyone is in the one warehouse from marketing to CEO to sewers and their staff is paid a really decent wage and its not outsourced slave labour and they take care of their employees. I was nearly going to buy a tha gap t shirt because i got one here and it fits nicely but it's getting old no despite washing on delicate and it doesn't sit well with my political views to support them (I prefer plain t shirts, this one has "Gap Athletics" on it)

Plus AA seem to be the only palce i can get a red hoodie for going to the gym with, i can't find one here and ic an't find an australian company that has a similar ethos (eg no outsourcing labour and making it in china or taiwan).

What are the sizes like? Are they very fitting? Is the cotton thick or very thin?

I have some clothes from AA and I like them. I go to the store though so I can try them on first. They fit about average, maybe a tad smaller than gap. The fabric thickness depends on the item. Some shirts are thin and some shirts are thick -- if it says "sheer" in the description it's probably thin. I also have a dress from there that's this really soft, stretchy material.

i have the free love t-shirt i bought from here and thats american apparel. um, the cotton is quite thin and it looks/feels cheap but its not really. it lasts through washes - so the quality is quite good. i cant remember about sizing. i think the sizing is comparable to our S-XL? im not too sure. if youd like you can try mine on. but then im not too sure how the t's will compare to the hoodies.

I took a look in a store, but I could tell that nothing would fit me.

saara will become famous soon enough
I've ordered from them twice. Both times it took ages (half a year the second time) and some of their stuff is shit. For example, I have their lounge pants (or whatever) that I have washed according to directions. They fit nicely right after a wash, and after half an hour of "lounging" around in them, they will be big enough that they won't stay up. Not very ideal. My boyfriend love the jackets they have, and they have held their form really nicely. So. Could go either way. They don't run small, I've ordered too big stuff, actually (some shirts and a skirt).
I'd order from them in the future, if I could trust to get my stuff in a sensible amount of time. But then again, I live in europe.
