| | | what's going on fashion-wise in your city? we're in autumn going into winter here in melbs. i can't decide how i feel about current fashions in melbourne. i actually like most stuff but it's also incredibly boring.
- slouchy boots/cuffed boots/high heeled or flat boots over skinny black/dark blue jeans
- skinny jeans either by lee or bettina liano [sooo sick of these with all the knock offs]
- skinny jeans with ballet flats
- oversized sunglasses
- eskimo jackets
- peacoats
- oversized handbags
- polka dot everything
- stripey everything
- short shorts over tights
- dresses w/ boots & belts
- waistcoat/vests
- cropped jackets [argh! i hate these things so much!]
- slightly platformed/stacked high heels [which always just remind me of spice girls]
- stripey bonds hoodies
- shrugs/capelets/cardigans
- layers
- the victorian blouse thing
- bubble dresses/skirts
- dresses/skirts over 3/4 leggings
- the whole "rock chick/kate moss" type look with skinny jeans, boots, oversized bag & glasses, vintage tee and messy hair is just EVERYWHERE
i think just about every girl in melbourne has this top.

| | | i like the blue boots. that's weird, because i hate boots that aren't knee-high. ankle boots that the pits.
anyway i don't think sydney is much different to melbourne really. the victorian things seems to be huge, which bothers me. so does the russian-doll thing. i'm just really against fasion trends that last for about 3 seconds, and don't really bring anything that can be worn at any other time.
i've also seen a few people wearing a lot of bold, block colours. think 60's mod with the plain white skirts, red coats, plain black shirts etc.
i'm really against some of the layering people are doing. i saw an example of it in some magazine, i think it was cleo. i was fucking mortified that anyone would consider leaving the house dressed like that.
i don't think skinny leg jeans will ever die. i gave in to the revolution and bought 2 pairs.

2) the emo thing makes me paranoid. if i wear black jeans i'm positive everyone thinks i'm emo. i swear i'm not. liking one band that apparently falls into the "emo" category, and occasionally wearing black skinny leg jeans does not make you emo. right?
3) kylie, you shop at faster pussycat right? you mentioned rockabilly and that reminded me of it. i kind of wish more people shopped there, because the clothes are so awesome. but then i'm glad they don't because... people suck and they don't deserve nice clothes.

| | i think that far to many people in sydney shop at supre. not just because a lot of their clothes are, well, not that nice, but because they are all wearing the same things.
we have had warm weather, but this as autumn/winter fashion?
oh thats right, if it gets cold we just put on these
i know im so uncool and totally not with it, but leggings/tights look stupid with a dress like that, and with denim skirts. okay black 3/4 tights with denim skirts does not look good to me.
oh and im seeing tonnes of really short shorts, with stockings on underneath too. which i am getting increasingly adverse to.
I realise I sound totally anti-fashion, which im not. I just cant follow it if I dont like it. Im not one of those dress so alternative I look like a tard people either. I just buy what I like, the season stripey sweaters were in i bought like six of them in different colours. But when I cant find anything I like, it sucks. |

i like the leggings under dresses/skirts look as it allows you to wear dresses/skirts that you like but don't match with tights & without would be too cold for and for people who don't like their legs, it's a good way to hide them. but i do think it was more of a summer look.
i'm really into like school type tights under winter dresses/skirts at the moment. |

I live in them in winter. I had this awesome pair I bought in san francisco, and they could not tear or get a ladder in them, they were almost indestructable adn NOTHIGN got through them to my legs. Except my kitten. she attacked them and now there are holes. |

i thought i was the only one who noticed the emo-ness of town hall lately! i can't fucking believe it, they're always there. i saw some wearing MCR tshirts and i wanted to spit on them for it. retards. they kind of ruin my scary obsession for me a little.

The emo cum goth thing is fucking CRAZY here. It irritates me like woah because it looks really fucking stupid to see a million acne riddled emo goffs standing outside Hungry Jacks with their large Cokes in hand looking to see who is looking at them. Sorry but you aren't original if 80% of people at the mall could be your fucking twin.
The rest of the fashion here is slowly catching up with what has been posted in this thread. But it's been so damn warm that most people are still in their summer clothes. |

metallic accessories, black jeans, leggings, etc.
& this weird thing with boys wearing loose-ish blue jeans and jandals.
it would be ok in summer but it's fkn raining ppl.

| | skinny jeans
oversized sunglasses
polka dots
stripes
kate moss/sienna miller
pretty much the same as you bron, the same boring junk which looked great at first but now is so overplayed i want to kill every girl i see in polka dots. seriously. i went to a club on thursday and about 80% of girls were wearing polka dots, the other 20% were in stripes, with a skirt and cut off tights. |
