Where do you buy your fabric from?

I want to start making my own clothes. I went to a fabric shop local to me but it was really kind of shitty. I was disappointed.

Does anyone buy their fabrics online?

OH oh...does anyone design their own fabric? Cause ide love to know everything about that.

i really love finding fabrics. my favourites are paisley ones. i made some of my own clothes a few years ago. i was not talented at it at all and they were always botched but they served my purpose.

lots of fabrics for patchworking are wonderful. but they do not make very good dressmaking fabrics at all.

i know this is ikea, but sometimes they do have really good colourful/patterned fabrics.

you can get nice vintage/"retro" fabric from car boot sales also

ive baught fabric off ebay before too. but you do have to look through shit to find nice fabric on there. i got fuck loads of polka dot stuff for £10, more than youd get in a shitty fabric shop. oh it can be so barginous at times

There is a road within walking distance form my house that is almost entirely fabric shops.

i get my fabrics from this shop on ebay they have really awesome fabrics.ive just started trying to make my own stuff.my friend is making a corset from one of the fabrics from that shop yay

i dont what the fabrics are that i like...haha. i saw this girl wearing a print with emerald green and brown and some pink the other day that i wanted. i cannot even find just a plain dark olive green fabric? i mean.. its one of my favourite colours.
i bet there are some great fabric shops in london gelflinggirl.

i've never bought from them, but i regularly drool over their beautiful selection.

www.britexfabrics.com britex has an amazing notions floor. they have masses of bakelite buttons and belt buckles as well as vintage and antique appliques. naturally i have my own, less expensive resources but sometimes i lose buttons or need something special

www.poppyfabric.com poppy is my fav in the east bay and has the best interior fabrics bar none and laces and weird imports and the friendliest staff

neither of these sell online. sometimes i go to discount fabrics in i need something to experiment on. but. they kinda suck. and label everything wrong.

no. i need to touch first.

i print on fabric and design patterns. or at least attempt to. but thats why there is schoolz. i have a loom as well that i never have time to use
