okay, my bangs have grown past my eyes and i want them trimmed but i really don't wanna drag myself over to supercuts and waste 5 dollars on something so easy and quick. i read some stuff online on how to trim bangs but i always get nervous whenever i have to deal with hair and i freak out, so how easy is trimming bangs? i know people here have even cut their own bangs so can you tell me what you did.


i have curly hair too so i straighten the bangs, so i can't cut them wet.

I cut my fringe the other day and i look like one of those kids that have their mum cut their hair when they were little. Retarded

My hair was kind of wet when I did it though.
Straighten your hair before you cut it. Then cut it a little longer than you want it. Don't cut cut happy and chop loads off like I did

I always cut my fringe, it's never really gone too badly, it's pretty much the same amount of bad each time. Not super bad though, just a little wonky, nothing too embarassing.
Just do it slowly, cutting little bits of hair at a time & not just shear the entire thing off in one fell swoop.

i'm not sure what your fringe looked like to begin with (as in, when it was first cut) but if it's the kind that is not straight across but longer at the sides (like a stretched out upside down U), then do the following:

-dry and straighten the fringe
-pull it all together so all fringe hairs come together in a point at the end
-snip the end but only a small length at a time so you don't go further than you wanted

this was how my hair girl told me to do it and although i can never get it as perfect as she gets it, it's good enough til the next time you have an appointment.

okay. thanks, i heard doing it in different parts works too. since everyone else trims their own i think i can do it fine. it's really just a blunt cut, and i like it to end at my brows. is that easy?

I always razor the ends of my hair to make it look less blunt. DIY hair cutting is good, as long as you dont go ott like i used to with my fringe. I've now banned myself from ever having one again.

It took me a while to get good at trimming my bangs.
Don't do them wet - it's harder to gauge them at the right length.
And don't cut them horizantally in one go. Snip at them vertically, or razor them as was previously said. Otherwise you'll end up looking like a dorky 4 year old.
