| | | Resurrected!!!! The 'Why did I wear that?' thread This got lost with the old board and I had a blast reading through some submissions.....so here we are again.
My sins:
Early 90s:
stretch pants
huge tshirts with kittens on them
outrageous scrunchies (loads of them)
denim vests
High school:
gothed out in a very bad way (there is a good way to be gothed out, this was baaadddd)
full length black skirt I got from Old Navy
mid-calf platform boots
fishnet duster (not kidding)
black eyeliner (there's nothing wrong with it, but I've got almond-shaped eyes and it really emphasized the roundness of my face in a bad way)
confess your sins and assume the position |

gaudy coats and jackets
ripped nylons
combat boots

| | | until like grade 6 my mom made me where these stupid ass sweatsuits that were like...pastel colours with teddybears and puppy dogs on them.
and after that, i started buying me own, and i pretty much still wear the exact same style. i used to wear a lot of dirt biking/wakeboarding brands (ie fox, jetpilot, split) but not soo much anymore.
(but i still where split because they've sorta broadened thier horizons) |

| | | -black, bright red, and white fishnet shirts (sometimes layered.... yikes)
-see-through clothing with black tank tops underneath
-skull-stud earings with chains dangling off them (real manly)
-belts with tons of chains and such
-wal-mart combat boots (only shoes i owned all through high school)
-peasant shirt (considering how hairy my chest was, that was pretty much a crime)
-obscenely faded black second hand clothing (it looked so dingy)
-awful haircut with hair shaved on the sides and really long on top (not clothing, but still woth mentioning
Hmmmm... High school was an overall embarassment. YIKES! its really amaizing how much my style has changed in the past 2 years... |

| | | the stupid "bondage pants" they sell at hot topic that i could fit my whole body in one leg. they charge like $60 for those fuckers. i used to wear those with like misfits shirts (i still like them so this is no problem) and shit all the time, and loads of those rubber bracelets.
i was in the sixth and seventh grade, so i suppose it's excusable. |

| | | Huge baggy skater pants from pacsun.
Huge baggy metallica t-shirts (in my defense they didn't exactly sell metallica Ts for petite females, L was usually the smallest size I could get)
Too much cheap foundation, tons of eyeliner, but no blush or mascara, so I looked dead
Cheap black nail polish
Cheap makeup in general, except a couple of staples that are ok quality
Tennis shoes with everything
Big clunky black shoes for when I had to dress up |

| | | a few years back I had a really wierd goff/metal phase with all of the studded cuffs, collars, leather, black stuff etc. etc.
Nothing against goffs but that look was hideous on me..I quickly out grew it. Thank god |

| | | I think everyone on KR had a goth/metal/punk phase that they regret/laugh about, except for the kids who are 15-16 now and growing up in the midst of emo, which they will regret/laugh about in a few years. |

| | | my worst phase was definitely the "70s hippie reject" phase. think lots of long, LONG skirts, paired with 70's style shirts. outrageous colours and prints, usually involving some kind of ruffle detail. hideous.
but when i was 17ish i decided i was a skater girl, just without the actual skating. lots of cargo/military pants and random chains attached to my outfits.
i would like to say that i was never goth, metal or punk. thank god.
