| | | How to wear this dress So I have this event to go to this weekend. I bought a dress that looks VERY similar to this one I just found a pic of Courtney wearing. Mine is only black and white and is a tad bit longer, with a slightly lower waistline (not as babydoll/empire) and doesn't have the grommet-like detailing along the bust/waistline.
So, this is a proffessional setting, so I don't want to come across as sexpot/skank etc at all. The length is just above my knee (which concerns me), so i'm wondering what to do with shoes, and also the problem of the slightly plunging neckline. I have a beautiful black bra that I could have show slightly, or could slightly sew the v shut a bit higher. Blech. Ideas on how to make this outfit class? |

| | | wear a black cami underneath it instead of showing the bra. If you want to look professional, stick to black medium heel pumps. don't do boots though, it'll just look far too go-go dancer-ish |

My dress is a graphic black and white print, so I was thinking that really, really tiny fine fishnest in black? I think something like black pantyhose would kill the outfit... yikes!!!!! |

| | | I think black heels would be best too... someone I know suggested a splash of colour in the heels b/c my dress is black+white, but I'm not convinced...
So far: Black heels, perhaps a black camisole to prevent over-cleavagifcation,
perhaps some type of black pantyhose to prevent unsightly flashing...
I was actually also thinking of this sweater thing I saw being sold that's like the same length of the dress (from the same store) and it's thin, thin, thin and has kimono-y sleeves too and has a tie around the waist. I think it has a few buttons on it to close it. It's not frumpy and would be great b/c the weather is definitely cooling right now. It's just expensive, so I'm not a 100% sure. |

| | | i like the idea of the fine fishnet stockings. i think that would look really cool.
i also think adding a bit of color with the heels is a good idea too.
i'm not sure how i feel about the sweater over it though. it might be too much. i guess i'd have to see pics to decide on that though. |

| | | I wore a dress like that to my sister's wedding.
I suggest putting your hair up and probably wearing flats or maybe wedges.
I wore heels, but I ran out of time and they were the only shoes I had. But they didn't match very well.

| | | If your tits aren't huge and you don't wear a pushup bra like Courts there, the dress should look classy instead of skankaliscious. And I actually think it would look cute with a pair of boots? |

| | | Yeah, the boots are a tough call... I have one pair, but I don't think they're supple and marvellous enough to cap off my lovely dress. I have to buy a pair of bloody black shoes cheaply now though, because I have 99 pairs of shoes but not a nice pair of sleek black heels.! |

| | | If it's a professional setting, I think it goes without saying that you should not let your black bra show. Sew it if you have to or get a deep plunge bra.
I think the Louboutin-ish platform peeptoes like courtney is wearing go best with it...if red seems too trashy try black, or do closed toe pumps instead. If you have nice legs, cute flats would look good if you're afraid of heels looking skanky, or if you're young, black flat boots could look cute (maybe more casual than professional though). | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
