On the contrary; I think higher waisted jeans are much more flattering for my ass because they circle it, rather than cutting it off right across the top.

I honestly think high waisted jeans have a bad rep because of the hideous 80s ones that were tapered at the ankle yet quite full in the thigh and knee. They were just a recipe for disaster.
I think high waisted skinny jeans a la Lee High Rize, are very flattering.

People have to stop pretending that hipsters are for everyone. They're not. Different styles suit different people. I *think* fashion is heading a much more liberal direction which is less 'trend' motivated and more individual as in, hipsters, boot leg, high waist, skinny,m wide leg, will ALL be fashionable, and people wont have to submit to what is hot right now.

I don't like the idea of wearing them... but If they get the same amount of hype as skinny leg jeans, needless to say I'll be wearing them.

these were in heat this week. in the picture they look terrible on kate moss so im not about to try them.

i also hate the sensation of having clothes come up that high. itd be like they were constantly riding up without you even sitting down.

if you're very skinny they can look amazing.

if you're not that skinny you should get ones that are a bit lower. but they're a great change from hipsters. i am sick of being arsecracks & muffin tops.

I bought like long shorts (not three quarters bit shorter) and noticed they are a bit higher.. they are still pretty cute though

But them again I'm a crazy person cause I like big hips. Really skinny girls in high wasted pants/skirts just look even more shapeless. This is not at all a trend for the skinny, it's a trend for the ones without tummy flab, or with corsets.
If they don't fit nicely or if you have an ugly ass they can look like shit.

High waisted jeans remind me of "mom jeans". Ever since low rise pants came out, I feel gross in anything high-waisted.

Muffin tops are caused by wearing pants that are too tight. If people would stop trying to squeeze themselves into a size 2 when they are really a size 4, the whole muffin top thing could be avoided.
