Try wearing wedges instead if they're appropriate for your work. 4 inch wedges are surprisingly comfortable.

i dress however i want and i dont think my friends dress very well or look that great in their clothing so i dont worry about competing.
im sure i look horrible sometimes too but i think they all are boring and predictable.

I'm way younger than most of the other teachers. I'm considered the fashionable one. Shocking development, and a world first to boot.

my friends are oblivious to dress and shoes and anything nice. except for one and he's a guy so he doesnt count. plus he looks like a reptile (in a good way).

my shoe shopping friends are great but i always buy more shoes than anyone so i dont have to you know, keep up to their quota.

yeaaaaaah, that sums up quite a few of my friends, and the rest....well, i go to art school at the moment. funny how different majors dress differently. im in the most casual/crappily dressed major which is film. just really NOTHING stylish about anyone, most ppl look like they came to class in the morning straight from a bar in dirty jeans.
although some of the computer arts nerds who walk around trying to look like keanu in the matrix...uhh LOL...NO.

i think i have ONE stylish friend, who is always very well put together, but i dont try and keep up with her, i just wouldnt be able to. my style changes with convienence, with mood, etc, i would never be able to 'keep up' anyway, and i dont really care i suppose. im too old to care what other people think of the way i look. ive gone out looking like shit to so many infinite places and so many countless days that im immune to caring.

i felt the need to keep up more in high school when i went to school with rich girls wearing chloe. i was forever in heels.
now, not so much. i only worry when i see people in better jeans than me. because i'm a total jean freak.
people try to keep with me at work though. which i think is funny.

my closest friends and i have differing eclectic styles, we always buy each other clothes and jewellery and often borrow and trade things, but we don't look the same, so nobody feels immitated.

I don't feel the need to keep up with my friends, besides I don't have the money to really. I have one friend though who always has to have the newest 'coolest' stuff before anyone else. You could say that you really liked the top one day and then see her wearing it the next but meh...imitation is the sincerist (sp?) even if most annoying form of flattery

i am not really too worried about my sense of style. i like to think i have it pretty well together. but i do have one friend who always buys really expensive clothes and the newest things, and another friend who doesn't really stick strictly to the latest fashions, but always ALWAYS dresses to suit her body and always looks great. i don't know which i would rather be like.

At work I try to dress as mind numbingly boring and unnoticable as possible. I only wear grey/black/brown. Out of work I never really dressed like any of my friends anyway.

My school is mostly science and engineering majors, who consider it frivolous to even care what you're wearing. Like shopping is this massive waste of time, but playing world of warcraft is worthwhile. The art school kids dress sort of alternative, and there are a few OC Bitch stereotypes, mostly psych/business/etc, who wear ugly juicy couture clothes and chanel sunglasses. It's a pretty boring place for clotheswatching.

People in different areas dress differently too, though. Last winter I got accustomed to wearing some sort of graphic tee or layered tops, jeans tucked into wedge boots, and a belt slung around my hips. Totally standard for someone under 25 in CA, I thought I looked boring. I wore the same stuff when I was home in AL for Christmas, and all my friends were like "Um, why the hell are you dressed like that?"

haha, good lord no. half of them are very hmm, 'alternative', or trying to dress to piss off their parents. really not my kind of thing.
the other half are very down to earth - tidy hair, jeans, heels and hoodies kind of girls that shop in river island and the like.
this is going to sound really pathetic but i'd almost kind of like to have some competition, someone to copy and to go shopping with that likes the same kind of stuff as me.
