Food Allergies - Fruit

I suposedly have a deadly allergy to tropical fruit; Bananas in particular. Last year in the middle of eating my daily banada, my lips became swolen, my face & body became splochy with red, I started having chest pains and generally felt very weird. Having allergies to many other things, I took a Benadryl and waited it out.

I went to the doctor's the next day and she told me that next time the reaction will be worse, possibly deadly. I told her berries and apples also tickle my throat and she told me to stay away from all tropical fruit and blossom fruit from now on. I asked her if I could still have baked goods, such as banana bread. She said I shouldn't try it.

Well today I bought what I thought was a choc. chip muffin. After a few bites, I realized it was banana choc. chip. I threw it away and just sat here waiting for something to happen. It's been about 30mins now and nothing. Could it be that baked goods are okay??

Any insight on this would by much appreciated.

Thanks

Well just from past minor reactions from other fruit, I will never eat anything raw ever again. That is an absolute given after the reaction I had to the raw banana.

But my questions is, does baking the food cause the allergen to dissipate?
I have a feeling this is only a question a specialist could answer... I figured maybe someone here has had a similar allergy for longer than me and could possibly give me some insight on this.
