eat around it?

on the weekend, we went to a friend's place for dinner.
he made this awesome meal for us:
salad, garlic bread and lasagna.
i was loving every minute of it until i found a hair in my lasagna.
i was 90% done, i had like three bites left.
it looked like an eyelash or something.
but for the life of me, i could not go on.
i tried to eat one more bite but i just couldn't...i was almost gagging.
i felt horrible, but what the hell do you do?
jeff was looking at me and asking, "don't you like it? want another piece?"
i really wanted him to just shut it, but i just said that i was full.
normally i am a good eater, i can eat two big pieces of lasagna no problem.
but i just couldn't go on.
was i being rude?
what would you have done?

I don't think you were being rude. Not saying anything seems to be teh best route.
I probably woulda ralphed if that happened to me. What is wrong with people? Use hair ties when cooking people ! Especially if you are having a dinner party!

i am SO SO SO careful when we are having people over for dinner.
especially because we have cats.
that is the worst for a guest - finding a cat hair in your food.
i can handle it because they are my own cats, but still.
