My ex boyfriend & I have spent months perfecting the roast potato but have finally found success. Though I have been steering clear of peas with a roast dinner recently since someone at work compared it to putting potatoes in stew & called it common
I really want a roast now.
what's wrong with putting potatoes in stew? not an essential ingredient, but sometimes it helps to thicken it.
peas are also fine. I think going around calling things 'common' is small-minded and shows the person is not half as posh as they think. go ahead and eat peas.
how have you made perfect roast potatoes? i favour the nigella method from her 'feast' book.
if anyone's interested i have hugh fearnley-whittingstall's book 'MEAT' and i can post up stuff about roasts...
