it's my boyfriend's birthday this week and he is really into ufo/alien type stuff so i was thinking of making him a ufo birthday cake. the only ones i can find online are pretty hardcore though:





and i'm kind of a bit daunted. do you think it would be ridiculously hard to make? when i was kid i remember my mum making me a cake that was like this:



so maybe they're not as hard as they seem? does anyone have any experience in this matter? or otherwise just post photos of awesome birthday cakes.

because he really likes cats too....

you could just make a simple little green man alien cake, or a cake with crop circles on it? just something a bit easier than a whole ufo cake construction.

i'd post pictures, but the only ones i could find looked like they'd been made by a blind person

Any cake is good delicious cake. I bet he'd agree. The cat one is really cute and looks easy to make though.
