| | | strong arms? can you help me not to have meretricious trollop on crack cocaine arms??
I have like 10 lbs dumbells and I would excercise with them but I didn't really see any change and got discouraged.
Now I do it once in a week or while or whatever. I just want to be able to develop strong arms fast.
I'm not talking arnold schawrzennegger arms, just arms that are not skeletal. Any help¿? |

or just start doing an assload of pushups if you want to tone away the winehouse arms. |

| | | pick a weight you can do at most 12 reps with before failure. and do it to failure, not just until you feel like stopping.
leave at least a day gap, maybe two, between workouts.
eat high protein immediately after workouts.

| | | You need to join a gym and get first-hand advice, the it's hard to get good advice about this on the Internet. I know you say Panorama has this big macho culture and everything but there has to be somewhere you can go - aren't you back in education now, and if so they must have facilities?

And the reason I don't go to gyms is because ugly people at gyms basically don't exist.
No one treated me with respect on any of the few times I went to a gym, and the last time I went I wanted to lift some weights, and the monster gorilla instrusctor wouldn't even give me the time of day, he was so disdainful to me and gave some vague explanation of the routine I should do.
Well, I was going to do it ALONE and THANKS HEAVENS for some fags who said that they would help me and they did, I didn't know that the bar for weightlifting weights like 20 FUCKING SKANK POUNDS!!!!!! and I was going to add 5 lbs to the bar, I mean no way in hell would I have been able to do that, I would've died in a freak weight lifting accident if those fags hadn't helped me, and all because of that asshole instructor who wouldn't help me.
So I don't like gyms, I'm not going to pay for people to diminish me and bully me around, I'd rather excercise at home. |

| | | 10 lbs is a tiny weight.
pick something you have to exert yourself to lift once, do 6-8 lifts with your palms facing out, stop for 1 minute, do it 6-8 times again, stop for 1 minute, do it 6-8 times again, your arms should be really struggling if you've got the weight right. rest for 5 minutes, do this 3 set thing again only with your palms facing toward your body. do it again 3 days later. eat properly in the mean time.
go up fast and down slow. do it properly, don't just throw your arms upwards and count that as one, lift to the middle of your chest, not your neck (this is problem with lots of weight training, people lifting to arbitary points they've decided is best)

Ok, I'll try with heavier ones, I think I have 20 lbs dumbells, would that be ok?? and how many can I do???
is there a risk of the muscles getting developed in an uglified manner?? and how many times a week???? |

| | | it's about doing them as slow and borderline painful as possible. the slower you do it the better. muscle building isn't an aerobic thing. feel the muscle burn for every centimetre you're lifting otherwise it's doing jack shit. |

| | | can't get your hands on any dumbells where you can attach the weights yourself? you'll need to gradually increase their weight anyway as you go so they're not a bad purchase if you're serious about it.
20kg's sounds a bit excessive, i'm guessing it's lb's. I think i was using 10 or 12kg's, and i'm a pissant too. |

| | | It's not muscle strength you want it's muscle mass. Huge weights are better than lighter ones in increasing mass. Lighter ones are better for gaining strength.... Just a note

You get hardcore bodybuilding gyms with twat instructors like you describe, but there's surely also community/council gyms that people more normal people use and where gorilla types will be scarce. At least that's the case over here, if you can't find any in Pa-naaa-ma-nana (mana-mana) then you're admitting it's a backwards country after all.
I'm sorry but there's too much advice out there on weightlifting to take in, much of which is contradictory or near impossible to explain without being there, so you really need to join a gym to get the exercises right in the first place. The good news is if you're new to it you'll get a lot of noticable improvement in the first few months.
