| | Who here freezes bread? I'm talking about regular store-bought bread loafs with slices.
Usually I leave bread in the cupboard or something because it gets eaten in time before it goes stale. However my new roommate does something I thought was really weird, he puts his loaf in the freezer. I'm assuming to keep it fresh forever? and then thaw it?
This is the most mundane thing ever but I want to know if you leave your bread out, in the fridge, or the freeze it? |

| | | I buy them in bulk and then freeze them. It tastes exactly the same when it thaws out and my toaster even has a "frozen" button you can check.
But I leave one loaf out usually for whatever. Cause it sucks to have to wait. |

| | | i keep bread in the fridge and the freezer because i dont eat a lot of bread and it would go bad before i finished the loaf if i didnt.

| | | i don't eat store bought sliced bread, but freezing it is acceptable, especially if you're going toast it. what is wrong is refrigerating bread, it dries out and spoils quickly in the refrigerator. my sister's boyfriend refrigerates bread and based on that alone i'm sure he is a moron. |

| | | My dad freezes the bread.. i thought it was weird. I just scrunch the packet back together and leave it on the side, or in the microwave or something. |

| | | Hm..may start doing this myself. I don't like wasting any type of food especially the bread. I get a couple loafs and that's about it. Afraid of it either not getting eaten or spoiling. I'll try one loaf at first and see what happens. |

| | | i do it all the time, the sprouted grain bread i love (ezekial 4:9) isn't always available, so when i find it, i get two loaves, one sesame & one cinamon raisin, and freeze most of it.
my toaster broke, so i just put it under the stove broiler for a minute. |

| | | I always freeze my bread. But I buy good quality bread, and just take what I want to eat the next day out the night before, and put in in a little plastic bag.
I also make the bread the bf takes to work while it's frozen, and when he arrives at work it's not frozen anymore but still fresh. |

| | Yeah ,we used to do this too, until ou freezer broke.
And, basically am too poor to replace it so there's no room inthe other
freezer (Ice box?) part for bread.
Now I buy bread every other day on the way home from work.
Its kinda wasteful, but its so cheap
I think I need a bread maker.
So.... if we're doing a secret santa this year... thats what I want |

| | I put bread in fridge, there's nothing wrong with it. It's help to prevent it from stale, I barely eat at home, sometime my food got stuck in fridge by days.
Talking about bread reminds me of this sub sandwich from Deli Creations (that I also put in the fridge) and they keep fresh. I usually stacked it in fridge and just heat it up in microwave in less than a minute, they're good.. yum! Does anyone ever tried one of those Deli Creations sandwich?? |

| | | I always freeze bread, unless it's a new load of italian bread or something I must eat that night or by the next day. It's better than ending up with stale bread that you forgot to eat within a certain period of time and going out to feed the ducks instead...
(rethinks)...That doesn't sound that bad.

We have two loafs out though, brown and white bread.

| | | Freezing bread is cheap and weird. Just buy as much as you need. Plus the bread tastes gross when it is defrosted. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
