Thumbs down Sweet cravings

I was so motivated before the summer -- I had to lose weight so I could wear a bikini, but come summer I thought, what the heck? And I ate whatever i wanted because it was summer (dumb thing).

I've tried to get back to eating healthy but every day I've got to have something sweet, and once I've had one thing it's ok to have another cos I already messed up that day... I just need to get out of this habit!!

Any ideas?

i need something sweet (or somethings plural) everyday. and during period time, i crave them even more. to keep it under control, i let myself have the sweets but only if they're lower calorie or portion controlled single servings. and i measure out my ice cream servings in a measuring cup so that i make sure i'm only eating a proper serving size (light ice cream with half the fat, it's just as good as the full fat stuff). try finding things at the market that are like that. here in the states we have a lot of 100 calorie serving sweets by hershey's, weight watchers, etc. that way you can indulge your sweet craving without going overboard.

when i want sweets, i eat dates, strawberries, pears, peaches.
frozen yogurt is good, and less calories.
using a measuring cup is very helpful!

One of the better things for hunger is pine nuts especially if you need to grab something on the go. Not just any nuts but the ones from pine hence pine nuts. They contain a bit of sap in them that makes you feel full. Perhaps that's why squirels like them and have leaping agility. Just go get some and snack before you eat another peice of cheesecake. I'm watching you

I really crave sweets since I changed my pill. So I don't buy them, then I can't buy them!

Lol okay thanks a lot, I'll try the pine nuts and let myself have something from Weight Watchers when I really can't avoid the cravings.

Thanks!

careful with pine nuts though, 25g of them is about the same calories as a small choc bar neway.

i eat a curly wurly when i want sweetness - they take forever to eat what with all the chewing and are only 100 kcal each.

you know, i tried a butterfinger for the first time the other day, and i haven't been able to think of anything else since.

and this is coming from somebody who only ever eats foods with high sugar/fat content.

hence the thousands i've spent on dental work. i don't really care about getting fat. if any of you need to get rid of any pesky butterfingers, i will look after them. by stuffing them into my face.

I don't know about calories but yes they are high in fat. But in terms of curbing your appetite they work well. Protein makes you feel fuller faster but these specific nuts have appetite suppresant chemicals as well.

ive had a hard core sweet carb addiction/cravings since i went on zoloft. my pyschiatrist assures me its part of the zoloft, it doesnt affect everyone that way, but its the same intensity of craving that i used to get after i quit smoking.

Craving sweet things is an indication that your blood sugar is low. You need to be eating foods like fruit, vegetables, pasta, grainery bread and nuts. These types of food have a low glycemic index, which means they release their energy gradually. Candy has a high glycemic index, which means that it gives you a temporary sugar boost. Eating low glycemic food ensures that your blood sugar levels are stable throughout the day, so your body doesn't crave a quick fix. Eating breakfast is key to preventing dips in blood sugar throughout the day, so make sure you always eat your brekkie.

A good trick to beat the sweet cravings is to brush your teeth. You could apply some lip gloss too, so you don't want to mess it up.
