Thumbs up

it's about damn time someone made a corn on the cob thread.

ugh i'm really irritated right now. i have a pic of some corn on the cob in a pot over a campfire pit that's totally not burning so the corn isn't cooking - it's from last summer. all the wood was wet and the ex and i could not get a fire going so we just had this amazing corn and we couldn't cook it and we nearly died of frustration - aaaanyway, i can't find the picture. and it's IN my computer. this thing is tiny, man, how do you lose something in it?

the good news is: we got wood the next night and had the corns. i don't have any fun recipes at the moment, but i will.

when i was a girl scout camp counselor, i got my campers to do a "corn race" with me. it's where you eat corn and the first one to have a corn poo wins. fond memories.

i really don't know what to make of this:

Mexican Corn on the Cob (Elote) - Allrecipes

mayonnaise? can that be good? the problem is, i can not touch mayonnaise with my hands or i have a total meltdown. so i don't think it'd be very good at eating that even if it were good. but maybe, because i might just be intrigued enough to face up to my mayo-finger phobia. i guess first i need to know: what is cotija cheese like?

I love it but have to cut it off the cob because I have veneers on my front teeth...
I have little corn on the cob forks so you don't have to touch it when you eat...

mine are plastic but it prevents butter hands.

definitely one of my favourite foods too.
only this season (well, last season), every time i bought fresh corn it was horrible. stupid lack of quality. it was probably GE or something.
