i'm not sure what the proper name is for it, maybe that's it? all i know is, you do yoga, and it's like 110 degrees in the studio. and you sweat. a lot.

I have never tried Bikram Yoga, but I will. SOON. I am trying to build up my stamina enough to be able to endure an hour and a half of class. I hear it's AMAZING though.

It's a series of 26 poses, repeated twice, and the temperature is set to 105 degrees. It's serious bizzzness.

I couldn't do it. I get so grumpy when it's even slightly warmer than I'd like it to be...

i sure did! they said "for the new people, the goal is to make it through the entire class without leaving the room" as in, we probably wouldn't be able to do much of the stretching and stuff, and since it was a flow class it goes pretty fast right, but i MADE IT, AND i did all the poses! go me!

Really? I get quite stressed for some reason when my hair feels sweaty, but I might try it if there's somewhere I can do it nearby...

Do you need to be able to do yoga before you go?

I think it increases flexibility.
Still not nearly a good enough reason for me to go into a room that hot.

i dont 'think so, i had only gone to normal yoga once before and that was a long time ago... they say in hot yoga that the goal of your first class is to just be able to stay in the room for the whole 90 minutes. if you dont feel strong enough to do the poses then they say just lie on your mat and relax. i was able to do it though, so you should too!

my tip: go to the first class in the morning, cuz if you go late at night, the studio will be waaaay hotter and waaaay more humid, making it much worse lol.

my friend had to do this as part of her yoga instructor course and she described it as "hitler with a headset, making you do yoga in a sauna". sounds like hell, but good for you.

The idea of it being that hot is to replicate the conditions you would get in India I think, but it's an American thing.
