something fun and physical to do on a day off?

when i have a day off, i tend to sit on my ass at home all day, or at most go shopping/see a movie/get drunk.

what else is there to do, that also gives me some exercise?

so far i have:

go swimming
pay for a drop-in class at a gym
go for a long hike
borrow a bike (don't have one atm) and take it on a ride somewhere

...and that's pretty much all i can think of. suggestions?

no-one suggest sex, I am saying this now so no-one can feel smug for saying it later.

Whereabouts do you live? Near where I live is Cannock Chase where there are loads of bike trails which are lots of fun, and you can hire a bike there too. Other things:

fly a kite, if it's windy.
go for a trip to a different city on the train and explore.
set yourself challenges, like taking ten photos to do with something. I'm not feeling that inspired right now so can't think of any suggestions for subjects. It's not that physical but at least you are outside, which is always good.
if you have a few days off you could go youth-hostelling, that's really fun but maybe a bit much for what it sounds like you want to do. But maybe you could grab some friends and work up to it; trying to persuade my friends to come out with me to the Peak District sometime.
maybe you could do some kind of voluntary work outdoors? That would get you out and would be rewarding. You don't have to spend very much time doing it. My brother works at the Blue Cross centre in my village looking after horses for D of E.

Go to the zoo. Walk around in it a lot.

Or maybe ride a pony. Palomino FTW. Wear a tiara whilst doing so.
