a question about cheese

ya know after a meal you always get served various cheeses.... i just read that cheese is good to eat aftera meal because it prevents tooth decay..... this can't be the only reason why cheese is served after a meal? it seems dumb.

i always thought cheese was served after a meal because it helps with digestion.
