Overactive thyroid

Does anyone have one? Or an underactive thyroid for that matter.

I'm getting tested in a little while, I had tests before & they were shady when it came to that so I need to get retested.
I'm 99% sure I have it & I'm RLY SCARED.

What's the treatment like & did you gain/ loose shit loads of weight?
I know someone who had an overactive & she gained so much weight she was unrecognisable.

i do. i didn't gain/lose any weight though, and the treatment isn't so bad for me. i just have to take some pill every morning for the rest of my life.

the symptoms i had were a ridiculously fast heart rate. everything in my body was working twice as fast than it normally would.

I have an underactive thyroid. I'm currently seeing a specialist for it now since mainstream doctors don't know shit about stuff like that. Every thyroid website/book I read says that the thyroid tests always come back "normal" for most people and they spend the rest of their lives suffering because of it. Don't fall into that bullshit. Go see a specialist. Heres a great website I think you'd be interested in reading.

Stop The Thyroid Madness » Index Page

I'm praying that the specialist I'm seeing now is going to help because I've been suffering with this for 2 years now due to the mainstream doctors' ignorance and I'm so sick of feeling tired, brain fogged, and depressed.

Good luck! Tell us how it goes!

I had a blood test recently and my doctor said the results for my thyroid came back "abnormal."
But I don't know what that means.
Imma check out the site.

An UNDERACTIVE thyroid makes you gain weight. An overactive thyroid speeds up your metabolism and makes you lose weight. I had a weird thyroid test result come back once- and all the rest were normal. Apparently being really stressed can affect your thyroid test result.
