New Year Weight Loss/ Fitness thread!

i'm posting this as a place for all of us who are starting some self improvement in the new year.

feel free to post your goals, time limit, strategies, weekly or daily progress, or just whatever. please give advice if youve got some too.

i'll start

Last fall I started posting in a thread in order to help me lose weight and exercise more. I started with weight watchers and exercising one day a week. I kept up with WW and am now exercising five days a week.

I want to continue losing weight (it's a total of 29 pounds right now) this year and my goal weight loss is 125 pounds, so I have 96 to go. I will continue to journal online and exercise five times a week.

If you have five pounds or five hundred pounds to lose, or if you want to improve your fitness levels, I believe that journaling and being held accountable helps. Try it!

(thanks to tangerine for the intro)

I'm starting a diet, january first.
I'm going on the south beach diet, because I know it works for me.
Same time last year I was about 6 or 7 kg lighter. Starting my internship has meant a big hassle when it comes to food, so I eat at weird hours of the day and I eat shit. I'm out and about all day, so a packed lunch is rarely an option, and when I'll get to eat is always the question of the day, even if I'm a journalist...
It stops now..

Reason: A week off work. I work 2nd and 3rd of jan. Then I'm off until the 14th, so no work means phase 1 should be manageable - work wise.
I haven't been to the gym since november, and I can't wait to get started, i miss it sooo much. 90 minutes of cardio followed by a dip in the spa... ahhhhhhhhh!
I went shopping today in order to be prepared, and right now my fridge is packed with niceness. Asparagus, egg plant, cheese, organic eggs, and lots of other goodies.
The only thing I'm really going to miss is bread...

My weight right last time i checked was 78 kgs (171 pounds) but I'm scared to go check again, cause since christmas I think I'm closing in on 80 kgs and that's my "scary weight!" My target is 68 kgs to start with (149 pounds) cause a doc once said that that's my ideal weight.

Targets: 5 kgs in january thanks to south beach phase 1. The rest before May 1st when I'm going travelling.

Main target - to be able to wear my gorgeous white calvin klein swimsuit this summer. It doesn't fit me at all right now...

Any motivation will be helpful, let us know how you're doing!
Good luck to everyone!

I was going to start back in september but ended up being so broke I couldnt afford healthy food or to go to the gym. So i'm starting again now, I bought the cook yourself thin book to help give me low cal meal ideas and will be joining fitness classes. This will be a long term thing as I want to try to loose 4 stone.
First target is to try to loose 1 stone before easter, though thats probably expecting too much.

i've made peace with the fact that i am indeed the kind of person who makes new years resolutions. actually i am the kind of person who makes new resolutions every 3 weeks, so new year just tends to join in the madness.

so.

i intend to make some kind of 12 week plan, incorporating a slightly more bastardized version of the ironman challenge and a lot of clean eating.

(and, as i'm a completely antisocial person, i intend to spend new years eve on the couch, by myself, with a glass of wine, figuring out my 2008 plans. ocd much?)

I want to lose about 20lbs before I go abroad in september. Over the summer I went to the gym nearly everyday but when school started I just didn't have the time. I haven't been eating that great but thankfully since I spend so much time running between classes and work I haven't really gained anything.

Also this semester hopefully eating will be a lot easier since I'm moving off campus. I'll be making my own food for the first time and avoiding the cafeteria garbage I consumed last semester.
