| | | ouch This is a little more than the burn I think...any explainations?
I go to the gym three times a week for an hour and a half to two hours, I also go swimming once a week, do half an hours pilates everyday. So, I'm used to the odd twinge, painful calf ect ect BUT for a couple of months now one of my calves has become ridiculously painful to the point I can't touch it. It feels like a bad bruise but there isn't a mark there. I can't walk without it hurting, I can't even sit still without it hurting.
I've given it rest but usually it hurts more when unworked. I'm not happy with breaking my routine for more than a week at a time either so i guess there isn't alot of recovery period, which I know is dumb.
What could possibly be wrong with it to hurt so bad? |

According to my dad, he's been a runner sinse before I was born, he's had all the injuries. He hasn't a clue what this is although he's pretty sure it isnt pulled |

| | | i had this in my ankle, i couldnt even sit there without it throbbing in fucking agony.
turned out i'd ripped my achilles tendon - go to a&e and get it checked out. what helped me and what i was advised to do was to alternate between hot and cold compresses, and ibuprofen. it REALLY helps take the edge off it.
good luck, i feel for you, its bloody awful. |

| | | since you don't like your doctor, you could always go to one of thise walk in clinic things, and you won't have to wait a while for an appointment too! |

| | | i had the same problem this past couple of days.
take ibuprofen and use a heating pad and if you want, ice it before you use the heating pad. I read today, when i was frantically searching for a remedy to my soreness, that if you take vitamin e (daily, im assuming) you won't really get sore anymore. a hot shower or bath also feels nice. if you have access to a jacuzzi then i suggest you spend time in there aswell. hopefully you will feel better soon, make sure u still exercise but take it easy. If it doesn't feel better in a week, you should call the doctor. Also, even though it hurts to stretch, you should attempt whatever stretches you can do, even if it really hurts. These are all the things that ive done these past couple of days after spin class hell and today the soreness has subsided so im so glad. I hope you feel better soon! |
