| | | It's a massive cut in calories. If you stick to the 1-serving portion sizes and have two bowls of special K with skim milk, plus some fruit or light yogurt for snacks, you have gotten maybe 500 calories. You will probably be starving (depending on how much you're used to eating during the day) so you won't eat a very light dinner but even then, you could have 1000 calories and still potentially lose weight. If you do it I recommend one of the meals you substitute cereal for be dinner, so you won't be starving by then. |

| | | yeah, it's not just about having a bowl of cereal, it's by having what think is a single serving. I once messured how big my morning serving was compared to one on the cereal box and it was more than twice as big. personally the tiny amount they suggest is unreasonable and i'd think you'd starve all day.

| | just make healthier choices, don't snack, eat smaller portions, and excercise.
believe me, it's really not that difficult.
fuck the "kelloggs drop a jeans size" thing.
who cares if it works?
it's not healthy!
how much cereal do ya think they're gonna sell by promising this plan will help you lose weight?
a fuckload i bet.
that's all they're interested in.
fuck kelloggs.
look at this http://www.kelloggs.co.uk/specialk/dajs/dajs_how_to.asp
sounds real fuckin healthy to me. Quote:
Can I do this for longer than 2 weeks?
Sounds tempting, but no! The challenge is designed as a kick-start only and shouldn't be carried on after the 2 weeks are up. For ideas on how to keep up the good work with healthy living principles, visit kelloggs.co.uk/health
Do I have to eat Kellogg’s cereals?
Eating Kellogg's cereals in Kellogg's Drop a Jeans Size Challenge is recommended to help ensure that you achieve the recommended daily intake of several essential vitamins and minerals. Plus, Drop a Jeans Size has been scientifically proven to achieve weight loss from 5 areas of the body – upper arms, chest, hips, thigh and waist. 75% of subjects lost weight from their waists and hips and 35% lost more than 1 inch from their waists. In fact 38% of volunteers chose a smaller jeans size in just 2 weeks using only Kellogg's cereals.
| and make sure you eat kelloggs brand, that's key.
fuck you kelloggs.
hahahahahaha!
that's the first time i've ever cursed a cereal company before.
feels kinda good.

my 'meal' is going to be so much veg to make sure i get vitamins and the like.
..i didnt get kelloggs cornflakes...because the sainsburys ones were only one calorie more for 30g...and i figure that doesnt count!

| | | it seems crazy to me that you are encouraged to just eat this and nothing more for 2 weeks to get a bikini happy body?
huh, wheres the nutrients, protein and everything else you need in that?
the thought of just eating something so bland makes me want to pull my hair out. |

| | | I guess the protein would be expected to come from the milk, and some cereals. The cereals are vitamin enchanced (hence their saying "eat kellogs to provide the proper vitamins) but you could get the same benefit from taking a multivitamin. It's better to get your vitamins from natural sources in your food, but since they're just added to the cereal, it's the same concept as taking a pill vitamin.
I did live primarily on special K protein plus for awhile and lost some weight, but that's because I was too lazy to grocery shop much and found food uninspiring. I don't think anyone could do it for more than two weeks anyways -- if two of your meals are kellogs cereal every day for 14 days you're never going to want another bite of it. |

| | | There's no cut in calories or anything, because that page says in multiple places that you eat the cereal in addition to your normal diet. It doesn't sound dangerous, just stupid. Obviously if your normal diet is shit, adding some cereal's not going to help. |

Dont do this bullshit kelloggs thing, just get really strict about what youre eating. it sucks a lot, but it will be worth it in the end. |

It doesn't sound dangerous, just stupid. Obviously if your normal diet is shit, adding some cereal's not going to help. | My special K box says:
- Eat a serving of Kellogg's Special K, Special K Red Berries, Special K Vanilla Almond, Special K Lpw Carb Lifestyle Protein Plus or Special K Fruit and Yogurt cereal with 2/3 cup skim milk and fruit for two meals a day.
- Eat a third meal as you normally do.
- For snacks, choose from fresh fruits and vegetables or a Special K Bar.
- Consume beverages as you normally do.
So for that one you are cutting calories. Not sure about the others but the protein plus (the only kind I've eaten) has 100 calories per serving, and 2/3 cup of skim milk has 60 calories, so depending on your fruit you're getting 200-300 calories for those two meals. If you eat your third meal as you normally do then you'll probably lose weight, but the question is, who actually sticks to their normal sized dinner when all they've had all day is two bowls of special K and some fruit? I also think it's dumb that they have you keep drinking your normal beverages. Cutting out all caloric beverages is such an easy way for most people (who drink caloric beverages) to cut a drastic amount of calories, and without sacrificing nutrition as most beverages are empty calories anyways (except maybe fruit juice, but even then, you're better off with a glass of water and a piece of fruit).
This cereal in general is actually really healthy though. 5g fiber and 10g protein with only 2g sugar and 100 calories. The taste is obviously bland but add some splenda and use light vanilla soymilk and it's really good.
